Irish Wedding Processional
Monday, May 11th, 2009We’ve recorded the band performing a couple of sample processional songs for upcoming ceremonies. So far, the tune Sí Bheag, Sí Mhór by the legendary Irish harpist Turlough Carolan is the most popular selection. Click here to listen to an MP3 of the Goodtime Stringband’s version.

Here’s an MP3 of the band performing Jay Ungar’s composition Ashoken Farewell.

Filmmaker Ken Burns heard Ungar’s original Ashokan Farewell and was moved by it. He used it in two of his films: The Civil War, and his 1985 documentary Huey Long.

Hello,
I love your song Irish wedding tune. I live in Washington State and I was wondering if there was any way I could purchase that beautiful song to play at my wedding. I have been looking for bluegrass to be played at my “little house on the Prairie” wedding.
